Marissa Muniz began in the position of Assistant Athletic Director in SAISD on February 9, 2024. Marissa comes to us after serving the Highlands HS Community for 16 years. Out of those 16 years, she served as the Female Athletic Coordinator for 14 years and coached Basketball and Track. Before coming to San Antonio, she began her career in education as a teacher/Head coach at Rio Grande City HS. At Rio Grande City, she was the Head Basketball Coach and assisted with Cross Country and Track. After leaving her hometown, she was hired as a teacher/head coach at South San West Campus HS. Marissa landed at Highlands HS in 2008 after severe flooding forced the closure of West Campus HS.

Marissa earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Texas A&M University-Kingsville, where she also played basketball for 3 years, and her master’s degree in Administration and Supervision from the University of Phoenix (online)
