Note: Individuals who are 5 and older are eligible to receive the first booster as long as they qualify based on the timeframe following completion of the initial vaccine series.  Individuals who are 50 and older, and those ages 12+ who are moderately or severely immunocompromised, are eligible to receive the second booster.

Please Note: Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or adult. Pfizer first dose vaccines and boosters are also available while supplies last. Please register your child(ren) using the link/QR code provided to ensure sufficient numbers of vaccines on hand to prevent turning anyone away.

Second Dose Eligibility: 21 days or later after initial dose. Pfizer, Moderna and Johnson & Johnson doses can be mixed.

Booster Shot Eligibility: At least 2 months after receiving the one-dose Johnson & Johnson and at least 6 months after receiving the second dose of Pfizer or Moderna. Registration is not required but greatly appreciated to better ensure the provider has enough vaccine on hand to prevent turning anyone away. Vaccines are available while supplies last. Please note that registration takes approximately 30 minutes prior to receiving the vaccine.

If these opportunities do not work for your family, you may contact your local pharmacy, Walgreens, Walmart, HEB or health provider or visit the City of San Antonio website at covid19.sanantonio.gov for the most current clinic locations.

Immunization Requirements

Texas state law requires students attending school to be immunized against certain vaccine-preventable diseases. We encourage parents to get their children vaccinated before the end-of-summer vaccination rush and before school starts. Students cannot go to school without the proper documentation for the required vaccines or a valid medical or conscientious exemption.

Below is the most current list of requirements:
