The Office of Continuous Improvement is charged with directing initiatives essential to continuously improving staff outcomes through collaboration and development of evaluations systems. With a customer-service oriented approach, we strive to support campus and district staff as they grow their team’s potential. Master Teacher Initiative
The Master Teacher Initiative (MTI) is an SAISD initiative to develop, support, recognize, retain, and reward excellent teaching. MTI 3.0 and Beyond is a multi-measure teacher designation system that meets the rigorous requirements of House Bill 3's Teacher Incentive Allotment and defines excellent teaching based on SAISD's values for teacher development and performance. It increases access to highly effective teachers for all students, especially those with the greatest needs. 
 
Appraisal and Educator Quality
The district believes that continued professional growth of all employees will result in better outcomes systemwide. This work includes redesigning appraisal instruments for all job types, facilitating goal-setting districtwide for all employees, and better calibrating appraisers using T-TESS to evaluate teachers and T-PESS to evaluate school administrators. These calibration efforts are especially important as the district evolves its Master Teacher Initiative to align with House Bill 3's Teacher Incentive Allotment.
