Dear Officers:

Thank you for making the choice to protect and serve. Every time you put the uniform on, you put the safety of our students, staff and community ahead of your own. It takes a strong and brave person to risk their life every day. Every time you leave home for another shift, you are not guaranteed to return. But still you answer every call. And we are safer for it.

I would also like to thank your families for the sacrifices they make when you work holidays and birthdays and miss family gatherings. We appreciate the love they have for you, and we share the pride they must feel as you go about your very important work.

Know that we grieve with you each time you lose a brother or sister in the line of duty. Today we honor their memories, and forever these peace officers will remain in our hearts.

You, too, are in our hearts. You are family, and we embrace you.

Today, and every day, we welcome your positive and friendly presence in our district. With deep appreciation, thank you for the kind ways you reinforce a peaceful community. Your service allows us to make miracles for all our kids.
