Dear SAISD Familia:

At the Feb. 13 Board meeting, our Board of Trustees approved a resolution authorizing full-time, permanent employees to be paid for the recent inclement weather closures. Additional regularly scheduled campus positions meeting specific criteria were also approved to be paid for the closure days. The resolution allows the District to apply to TEA for missed school waivers, as necessary.

As a reminder, closures occurred on Tuesday, Jan. 31 and Wednesday, Feb. 1 due to inclement weather, requiring area school districts to close on an emergency basis. As a result of the Board approval, employees that did not report to work will not need to make up these days. Essential non-exempt staff that were required to report to work on the closure days will receive additional compensation.
