Dear SAISD Family Member,

It is truly an honor to serve as your Interim Superintendent of Schools. As I begin my second week within this amazing school district, I would like to personally thank you for your outstanding efforts in serving as a champion for our children. As I travel across our “79 Square Miles of Excellence,” I am constantly reminded just how fortunate we are to be surrounded by such bright articulate students, outstanding dedicated teachers and staff, a visionary Board of Trustees, parents who truly desire the very best for their children, and business and community partnership members who are committed to making a difference in the lives of our students.

As we continue to provide all students with the opportunity to develop their mental, moral, and physical capabilities to their maximum potential, let us take a moment to reflect on the banners that are displayed in the front lobby of our central office building. As a new SAISD family member, I see these banners through fresh eyes and find myself reflecting on the power of these words: Student Centered, High Expectations, Commitment, Passion, Integrity, Respect, and Teamwork.

Great school districts care as much about values as they do about victory, as much about purpose as they do about profit, and as much about being effective as they do about being successful. Your commitment to these beliefs has propelled us to go beyond the ordinary on behalf of our students and families, and the resulting state and national recognition is a testament to a true model for success.

Marion Wright Edelman once stated: “Service is the very purpose of life. It is the rent we pay for being on this planet.” On behalf of our Board of Trustees and our entire SAISD Family, we extend our sincere appreciation for your positive attitude and your willingness to make a difference in the lives of our students. Each day you serve as a guiding light for all those in need, and we are so proud of your efforts to inspire us to do more, to learn more, to dream more, and most importantly, to become more.

Have a fantastic Friday.
